About our creative reuse education package
Resource Work Cooperative are focused on extending the lifespan of resources through reuse and education.
We offer in-school and onsite workshops and longer term Artist In Residence opportunities that incorporate sustainability and reuse into the current curriculum. These suit early childhood through to secondary students. We also have a range of drop-in style workshops suited to community events, festivals and other public venues.
All materials are salvaged through the South Hobart Tip Shop, diverting them from landfill. Each workshop will challenge participants to think creatively and reinvent a range of pre-loved every day objects and genuine rubbish items, transforming them into something new and valuable once again.
Through the delivery of our Creative Reuse Education Program, Resource Work Cooperative are educating the community about steps they can take to reduce their ecological footprint and move toward a zero waste inspired lifestyle.
Our arts workers
Our arts workers are experienced in working with children and young people. They are all professional artists who have a shared passion for reuse and recycling. They are trained in alternative methods of construction and safety and adhere to our strict work-safe policies. Each arts worker holds a current Working with Children Registration.
Resource Work Cooperative can deliver workshops in our onsite Education Centre in South Hobart or at schools, OHSC and childcare centres, libraries, shopping centres and at community events and festivals.

Creative Reuse Artist In Residence for Schools
This is an opportunity for Resource Work Cooperative to connect schools with one of Tasmania’s best reuse artists. Students and teachers involved will learn to extend the lifespan of resources, think critically about their use of resources and be inspired and empowered to use creative thinking to reduce waste within their school environment. The Creative Reuse AIR will align to the appropriate Australian Curriculum areas. The AIR length and delivery method can be flexible to meet your schools budget and learning requirements.
For more information about a workshop or AIR please contact our Education Coordinator or call (03) 6223 3891
The Creative Reuse Workshop Program was developed thanks to the financial support of the City of Hobart, via the Dr Edward Hall Environment Grant.
